Why Trade In?
If you’re ready to upgrade your ride — whether to a newer e‑bike, a model with more range, or a lighter commuter — trading in your old bike is a smart, practical, and planet‑friendly way to go. At CNY E‑Bike, we believe bikes should last a lifetime, and a trade‑in helps give an old bike a new life while helping you get into something better suited for your current needs.
How It Works
- Bring your bike in for evaluation
— Whether it’s a traditional bike or an older e‑bike, bring it by so I can inspect it. I’ve spent 30 years in the bicycle industry (founding Cactus Bike and Cactus Adventures in Phoenix, AZ before arriving in Central NY), so I know what to look for. - We assess condition and value
— I’ll check the frame, drivetrain, brakes, tires, and — for e‑bikes — battery and motor condition. Based on the results, I’ll offer you a fair trade‑in value. - Choose your next ride
— Use your trade‑in credit toward any bike or e‑bike in our shop — giving you flexibility, value, and an upgrade without the full cost of a brand‑new bike. - Walk out with a properly inspected, tuned‑up ride
— Every bike we bring onto the floor goes through our standard maintenance processes. If you choose an e‑bike, it’s ready to ride — safe, reliable, and tuned.
What We Accept
We accept:
- Traditional pedal bikes in good, rideable condition — we’ll repaint them into the family or sell them refurbished
- Older e‑bikes (regardless of brand), as long as their batteries and electrics still function or can be refurbished
- Bikes with minor mechanical issues — we’ll evaluate repair needs before offering a trade‑in value
If you’re unsure whether your bike qualifies, just bring it in — I’ll take a look and let you know honestly.
What You Get
- Fair credit toward a new or refurbished bike/e‑bike — helping you save money on your next ride
- Sustainable reuse — keeping a bike out of the landfill and extending its life
- Peace of mind — every bike from CNY E‑Bike leaves the shop inspected, tuned, and ready to roll
Our Philosophy
At CNY E‑Bike, a trade‑in isn’t just a sale — it’s part of our commitment to riders, to community, and to sustainability. With decades of experience in bike building, maintenance, and riding, I know that a bike’s value isn’t just in its newness — it’s in how well it’s maintained, how much it’s enjoyed, and how many miles it carries you.
